Snowboming is back for 2007 in Mayrofen
Snowbombing ’07 is back with what promises
to be the biggest and most eclectic music festival
of the winter season. Taking place between the 9th
and 15th April, the popular resort of Mayrhofen
in Austria will again present the season’s
most highly anticipated party. Thousands of British
snowports & music enthusiasts flock for a fiesta
that stretches across mountains, streets and nightclubs
for a whole week of fun.
As one of the largest and most highly regarded resorts
in the world Mayrhofen gets completely taken over
for a week long party of hedonistic adventure and
extreme sport. To top it all off, it takes place
over Easter weekend so that’s one more day
off work to enjoy the amazing spring sunshine and
snowy mountains of one of Europe’s most snow-sure,
late season resorts. The nearby Tux glacier (Austria’s
highest lifted point) is only a short (free) bus
ride away, and although open all-year round, is
at it’s best in spring.
Famous for delivering a cutting edge line up of
world class DJs, Snowbombing is proud to have such
live acts joining the bill such as The Young Knives,
Sunshine Underground and Kid Carpet. The DJ’s
this year confirmed to blow everyone’s minds
include Scratch Perverts, James Zabiela, and Annie
Mac.
Straight back from a summer of festivals and a UK
sell-out tour, The Young Knives are looking forward
to going on the piste! Henry, lead singer says “
As the line up grows so does the resort and this
year sees the arrival of Austria’s biggest
cablecar – the 160 person Ahornbahn. Spectacular
party venues the I-Pyramid and the Arctic Disco
join old favourites like the legendary street-party
which this year is hosted by Sean Rowley’s
Guilty Pleasures and The Cuban Brothers –
quite literally a guaranteed roadblock!
Gareth Cooper from Snowbombing says “We’re
very pleased to add the live element to Snowbombing,
which we feel reinforces our position as one of
the biggest winter festivals in Europe. Watching
bands playing at 2000 metres with the snow capped
Austrian Alps in the background is certainly different.
The event has come along way, 2500 people at the
event is probably the biggest exodus of Brits for
a one off event which we are proud of. We do several
events but this is the one we are most proud of,
mainly because the atmosphere that shapes the festival
is probably the best I’ve ever experienced
in 15 years of Festivals. Without being cheesy,
it’s a right laugh from start to finish.”
Another new addition is the booking system, which
allows you to create your own online group with
incentives for group bookings for your mates including
free places and extra bonus packages.
