Shaun White is crowned TTR World Snowboard Champion
Based on his first place position at today’s Halfpipe Result in the 25th Burton US Open Snowboard Championships, Shaun White (USA) is the new Men’s TTR World Snowboard Tour 06/07 Champion. Shaun White was crowned at 17.30 U.S. EST at base camp in front of a mass of spectators to huge applause and hundreds of flashing cameras. Hannes Schoenegger, TTR Sponsorship Manager, presented the TTR award – a 10-kilo metal/wood plaque for White. An ecstatic White stated: ‘ I’m really proud to win the title...' (more...)

Travis Rice & Jamie Anderson win the US Open Slopestyle

Travis Rice and Jamie Anderson won today’s slopestyle competition at the 25th Annual US Open Snowboarding Championships held at Stratton Mountain Resort. Travis and Jamie each took home $20,000, Motorola cell phones and $5,000 each for winning the Snickers Best Trick Awards. 
 
“I’ve been competing at the US Open since 1998,” said Travis Rice. “My mom brought me when I was 15, and it was the first time I saw the pros compete in person. So I’m stoked to win my first US Open slopestyle title. It was definitely tough conditions out there for us gladiators, so I’m glad we made it through it.”... (more...)

The British Snowboard Champs showcases emerging talent under bright blue skies

The British Snowboarding Championships (The Brits) took place this week in Laax, Switzerland under blue skies and spring like conditions allowing the best British riders to throw down and show off their repertoire of skills. The Brits is a unique event taking place over a week with the emphasis not only placed on activities high on the mountain but also in the bars and clubs of Laax where some of the freshest DJ’s and live bands can be heard until the early hours.. Arthur Longo wins Pro Freestyle Quarterpipe Contest
The final day of competition at the TTR FIVE (5) STAR O'Neill Pro Freestyle 2007 wrapped up in Avoriaz on Friday evening, with spectacular victories in the Quarterpipe event for both France's Arthur Longo and Italy's Rita Comi.

Clear skies and unseasonably mild temperatures once again welcomed all qualified riders to the huge transition, measuring an incredible 10 meters in height and 20 meters in width. The last 32 men, including 16 automatically-qualified riders, were split into two even semi-final heats to determine which top 16 riders would be making it through to the night-time finals, where $8,000 in prize money and 850 TTR Ranking Points were on offer for the winning trick...

Crispin Lipscomb & Holly Crawford Win the 2007 Burton European Open Halfpipe Event

Blue skies and sun welcomed all HP finalists today up on Crap Sogn Gion for the BEO final event day! What a perfect day after inclement weather over the last week. Canadian Crispin Lipscomb took home the title and $ 10.000 prize-money. In the women’s event it was Australian Holly Crawford who was unbeatable, even though she was riding in pain with a broken rib...

Burton European Open Final cancelled due to bad weather

Dangerously high winds and low visibility forced event organizers and competitors to cancel today’s Burton European Open slopestyle finals for the safety of the riders. Slopestyle course conditions at 3000 meters on the Vorab glacier deteriorated to a point that it was far too risk..
