keir dillon
keir dillon Keir Dillon has been a bit of a hero of mine for many years, well in fact it dates back to when I first started riding in the mid nineties. His name will never go away, up there with the likes of Terje, Shaun Palmer, Peter Line, JP Walker and Mr Vincent. Keir has been riding for Burton for Donkeys years and still on their International team and looks like he’ll stay there for sometime.
I was lucky enough to bump into Keir while working in the states. I managed to get a day off to visit Mammoth Mountain and you bet yeah. Keir “I’ve always got a smile on my face” Dillon was there riding the pipe with the rest of the Burton crew. Things got even better when I asked him if I could have a smally interview for the folks back in blighty, he was more than happy. I told you he was a nice chap...

How long have you been riding? 12 years

Where did it all start? I grew up on the east side of the states, we only have small mountains so skiing was no fun so I turned to snowboarding.

What plans have you for the season? I need to focus on contest, learn some new tricks and to get out of my comfort zone.

What about any plans to go riding in Europe this season?
yeah, I’m visiting France and I’ll be in Lax for the European open in the New Year.

How long are you planning on staying at Mammoth?
I’m staying for a week then back home ready for thanks giving. I’ll spend sometime with the family.

Where is home? I live North of San Diego at a place called Carlsbad.

Keir, you're know for wearing head phones while riding what music do you listen to?
any electronic really, you guys have some really good DJs in the UK.

Who’s you favourite rider? Terje.

Favourite snowboarding movie? it has to be The “White Album”.

What films do you enjoy? I don’t really know, there’s that many, it has to be a comedy or an action movie.

What do you get up to during the summer months?
I like to get my body back in shape after the season and going surfing as much as possible

Keir who’s you biggest influence? it has to be Terje and Jeff Brushie

What’s the weirdest resort you’ve visited? I went to Japan a visited an indoor slope on the south island that was pretty weird. It wasn’t too long a slope but it had a great set up.

We have three indoor slopes back in the UK. Have you paid a visit to the UK? Yeah I’ve been to London..

Did you visit for one of our urban snowboard competitions?
no I just hung out with friends

Tell us your favourite resort....? Whistler.

President Bush, good or bad?
keir laughs then gives me the no comment like a well briefed politician.

Who’s your sponsors?
Burton, Anon, Gravis, Sobe and Boost.

Any last words?....
yeah I’d like to thank to my family and fans for believing in me.
