You shoot on film. Are you reluctant to make the switch to digital at the moment?
No, I’d like to get some digi equipment, I’ll always be shooting film and I’d like to use 120mm in the future as well but a digi cam would be a massive help in loads of situations.

So if money was no object, what piece of kit would you buy, and why?
Ha-ha too many things to choose, and this is if we still have no flying carpets right? Camera wise a Hassleblad H1 or Mamiya AFDII with digi and film backs and all the lenses would probably hit the spot!!

Being a snowboard photographer seems to be similar to being a pro snowboarder in the way that there’s not much money in it unless you are one of the top top people. What other genres of photography interest you that you could see yourself making a career of?
…Male nudes?

Tough question again, you see there are loads of cool types of photography from fashion to art or whatever and I definitely want to produce more of my own projects in the future but to make a career out of any of these you have to have 1000% passion and enthusiasm, loads of ability and a good amount of luck, plus a small fortune would help as well. So it’s not an easy career path that you can easily swing into from a season in the mountains. But yeah male nudes, what’s your budget?

Do you find it difficult getting riders motivated to go shoot stuff with you? So often on a good day it’s tempting just to ride for fun you know…

It can be hard at times and for sure some riders are better tuned into working with a photographer than others, making images in the mountains can be a long winded process if you have to hike a ridge or whatever so you have to be really patient with each other and communicate loads!!

If you could arrange your own photoshoot trip (again, no money restrictions), where would you go and who would you take?
Yeah right now I’m pretty keen to get over to Vienna and some of the other cities that way for a city and hill trip. Take the train you know, watching the carbon footprint; I think Chris Chat, James Thorne, Damo Doyle, Ricky Barrow and Sam Nelson would be a good crew.
