The
O'Neill Pro Freestyle touched down in
Avoriaz once again this January, attracting
riders from all around the world to
compete in quarterpipe and the newly
introduced rail contest right in the
centre of the resort. Their was
a great chilled out vibe as seasonaires
and tourists enjoyed cups of hot wine
to music whilst watching a fine display
of aerial trickery high above them.
British rider Dom Harrington pulled
off some sweet 900's in the qualification,
and looked set to be a contender for
the final before taking a couple of
slams which left him out of the final
8. Henning Marthinsen was sailing high
out of the quarter with stylish mctwists,
and young gun Freddi Austbo (aka Shrederik!)
was also killing it, but it was obviously
amplitude the judges were looking for
and the unknown French ripper Arthur
Longo took first place with a monstrous
backside air tweaked out to the max.
