The 10 cents snowsk8 Jam & Contest
was a first of the kind.
It was held at Les Mosses, Saturday 25th Feb 06
in Switzerland and was an immediate success. 18
participants, 2 categories, Open and Under 16, 15
minutes to run, hit the rails and the quarter pipe,
again and again until the bells rings to announce
the end of the run.
This skateboard like format pushes each rider to
deliver quality runs and enable new tricks to be
landed.
The event was organized by Electric eyewear, Pulp68
and NeverRide. Riders from all over (even from Paris
France) came up to meet their peers and show their
skills.
The snowkate scene is growing silently and events
such as this one resemble what snowboarding contests
used to be 20 years ago. It’s a small scene,
no big sponsors, no big crowds, no big price money
nor cars for winners, but there was an awesome vibe
and amazing attitude around and on the park.
Snowskating is in its “DogTown” days
right now and it is really awesome to see skaters
going down snow slops and pushing each other. Every
day news limits are being crossed and new tricks
landed.

Wanna be a pioneer to?
Grab a snowskate! Practice behind your house with
your friends and come and compete next year!
